Hi yall! My name is Emma Holman and I am a rising junior here at K-state! I am doing the new music business joint degree which is a BA in music and and MBA in business administration, and I am also minoring in public relations and advertising. I am from Dallas, Texas but my family just relocated to Fort Collins, Colorado!
I am one of the soprano section leaders and on the media team with Ella. I had the opportunity of attending SCI in 2022 and it was the reason I choose K-state as my home. SCI truly changed my perspective on music as a whole, but also myself and the way I want to interact with the world. I am so excited to meet all of you and capture the energetic, inspiring energy this camp breeds.
A fun fact about me is that my two most used apps are Spotify and facebook (i promise theres a reason). I spend an insane amount of time surfing Spotify, creating playlists, reading artist bios, and discovering new music. I solely use facebook for marketplace and have found some of my favorite pieces of art and furniture second-hand!
I cannot wait to sing with yall!
Hey yall! I'm Isaac Bailey, I'm from Liberty, Missouri, and I'm going into my senior year at Liberty High School. I'm going to be singing Bass 1 at SCI.
I don't really know what to put that's interesting about me because usually I tell people that I'm a singer, but that's everybody here so that wouldn't be very original. One of my big goals in life is to become and independent singer songwriter and I dream of performing at Coachella one day... I know that's a little ambitious so we'll see if I get that far.🤷
Other than that, I enjoy watching sitcoms, playing board games, and doing dumb stuff with my friends. I'm also a man of God (member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints) and my life kind of revolves around that. That's kinda it! Hope to get to know you guys and make some new friends!😁

Hi! My name is Grace Rio, but I go by Rey, and I’m an incoming junior at Liberty High School in Liberty, Missouri! I am so excited to meet and sing with people who love music!
I’ve been singing my whole life (to my brother’s sadness). I joined my elementary school’s choir in fourth grade and it was such a bad experience that I ended up not rejoining choir until my freshman year of high school. So far it’s been AMAZING! The community is fantastic and the songs we sing are fun and challenging!
Something fun about me is that I make stamps and I play violin, guitar, and drums!
Hey guys! My name is Anna Uong and I will be a Sophomore at Blue Valley Northwest High ('skies!) in Overland Park, KS this year. Along with being in BVNW Vox Choir, an all treble voice ensemble, I am also a guard member in the marching band, involved in the theater program, and a frequent sight in the various music programs throughout the community.
Some tidbits about me that do not directly pertain to music 😁
I love Dr. Pepper, lalaland, the color pink, and glitter! I am the oldest of four girls, and I recently reached the growth milestone of 5ft (it's okay to laugh), and although I've lived in the US all my life, I am from Hanoi, Vietnam.

Hi! My name is Indigo Belanger, and I’m finishing my senior year of Music Education at K-State with student teaching in the fall. This year, I’ll be serving on the administrative staff for Summer Choral Institute. I’m from Manhattan, Kansas, and I had the chance to attend SCI in the summer of 2020.
Although my experience as a student in SCI was during the pandemic and therefore virtual, I still had a wonderful time and learned a lot from people who shared a deep love for music! I am beyond excited to make connections and explore some wonderful music this summer.
A fun fact about me: I got chicken pox in 7th grade (late, I know) and to distract me from scratching, my mom bought me a ukulele and I became obsessed!
I can’t wait to meet everyone and make some awesome music! :))
Hello, everyone! I am Heather McCornack and I am one of your SCI directors this year. You will find me at the piano playing for rehearsals, running sectionals, and accompanying the voice recitals. I am also a yoga teacher and will be teaching a class for you when you're here!
I am a music instructor at K-State. I teach courses on musical theatre and country music. I also teach yoga, accompany the K-State choirs, and I music direct the musicals. I have a private voice studio at my home.
This is my third SCI and it's a highlight of my summer. I so enjoy getting to know you all, hearing your voices together and in your solos, and watching you grow as musicians and leaders.
Fun Fact: I've done lots of musical theatre in my career. The only things I love more than musical theatre are my two golden retrievers, Millie and Bailey. Please show me pics of your dogs during SCI!
See you in July!
Hi there! My name is Natalie Denton, and I will be a sophomore at K-State studying Music Education with a vocal emphasis. I am originally from Emporia, KS. At SCI this year, I will be a soprano section leader. This role is so exciting to me because it brings this experience full circle from my days as an SCI student in 2022!
When I attended SCI, my favorite part about the experience was being able to create music at such a high caliber with new friends. Getting to know all of the new faces and connecting with prospective students is what I look forward to most on this go-around.
A fun fact about me: I have a hearing loss disorder due to the shape of the bones in my inner ear, but it certainly hasn't stopped me from loving music so much that I am perusing a career in it!
Super stoked to meet all of you and make music together!! SCI is going to ROCK! :)
Hi everyone! My name is Ella Wellman, and I just finished my second year at Kansas State University. I’m majoring in Communication Sciences and Disorders with the goal of becoming a speech therapist, and I’m also minoring in gerontology, human development and family sciences, and music performance.
This summer at SCI, I’ll be serving as a tenor section leader with Brennan and will also be on the media team with Emma— so you’ll definitely see me around with a camera, capturing all the great memories we’re going to make together! I’ll also be reaching out to each of you individually to collect photos and chat about some short interviews, so be on the lookout for an email from me soon!
I’m originally from the small town of Sterling, Kansas. I first got involved with SCI as a camper after my junior year of high school in 2022, and that experience really confirmed that K-State was the right place for me! Last summer, I returned as a counselor and had the absolute best time. My favorite part of SCI — whether as a camper or a staff member — has always been the people. You meet so many amazing individuals, and there’s just so much laughter and joy packed into such a short time. I can’t wait for you to experience it!
And here’s a fun fact about me: I’ve had the incredible opportunity to open concerts with the National Anthem for artists like Wynonna Judd and The Band Perry — and this September, I’ll be opening for Sam Barber and Avery Anna!
Looking forward to an amazing week with all of you! EMAWWWW!!!!!
Hi my name is Evan Beaty I’m currently going into my second year at K-State where I’m majoring in Music Ed. This year I’ll be serving as the Bass Section Leader. I’m from Dallas, Texas and I got to attend SCI in 2023.
One of the things I liked the most was going to the water park. I’m really looking forward to getting to work with a lot of new faces and meeting new people

Hello! My name is Brennan Turman, and I will be going into my sophomore year this upcoming fall, majoring in Vocal Performance with a minor in Marketing and Musical Theater. This summer, I’ll be serving as the Tenor Section Leader! I’m from Dallas, TX, and I was also part of SCI in the summer of 2023.
One of the things I loved most about SCI is the bonds that form in such a short time. I still talk to many of the people who were part of my SCI experience, even though we now attend different colleges. For this SCI, I’m looking forward to watching everyone grow as musicians and seeing all the wonderful performances everyone will have!
A fun fact about me: Growing up, one of the things I did outside of music was swimming! I swam for ten years, and, weirdly enough, it helped me grow as a musician due to the use of my core and breath during practices and meets.
I’m so excited for this SCI, and I’m so glad to be a part of it!
GO CATS!!!!
Hi everyone! My name is BrynLeigh Childers and I am going into my Sophmore year here at K-State and just recently changed my major to Theatre with a minor in Musical Theatre. I’ll be the Alto section leader for SCI this year and I attended SCI the summer of 2023. I’m originally from Lubbock, Texas (but definitely prefer living in Manhattan)!
One of my favorite things about attending SCI was meeting so many people who have the same love for music as I do. I am currently still friends with many people I went to SCI with and truly believe that it brought together so many friendships that would’ve never happened if I never chose to audition! Truly one of the greatest decisions I’ve ever made!
A fun fact about me is that I’ve had over 30 pet dogs in my 20 years of life, and that number will most definitely keep growing!
I’m so excited to meet all of y’all and I can’t wait to hear the beautiful noise you create together! EMAW<3
Hi! My name is Corbin Montenegro, and I’m about to start my junior year at K-State, where I study music education. This year I’ll be serving on the administrative staff of the Summer Choral Institute. I’m originally from St. George, KS, and I attended SCI as a camper in 2022 and worked on the camp staff last year.
One of the things I loved most about going to SCI was meeting so many new people. I’m still friends with the majority of the people from my year and luckily I get to see a lot of them often since many of them decided to come to K-State.
A fun fact about me is that I’ve been to every county in Kansas! That fact, has led to a lot of interesting conversations from people from small towns reacting in shock when I say that I’ve heard of their town.
Can’t wait to meet you all!!
