Hello! Thanks for putting this in the forum Madison!! So, first - the music doesn't need to be memorized. I know this method is quite unique, but as we say here "trust the process." It's harder to do it if you've not experienced it in real-time, but it is very effective, efficient, and thoroughly expressive - but quite different. It's important that you take your time with each step and not adding too much too soon.
Just start with the rhythm - scatting it until you feel like you understand it. Using the metronome at a slower tempo when things are challenging and then speeding up as you master material. Always be expressive before moving to the next step. The practice files the staff created should help (at least with the rhythm) rhythm is the first element and sometimes can be the most challenging.

2. scat the solfeggio (expressively)
3. sing the solfeggio (expressively)
