That's funny, I imagine my piano teacher would also be quite concerned if I started learning the organ, and he also gets me on overuse of the damper pedal too!! That's super cool! We have an organism at my church too, but we don't have any organ learning programs that I know of here in MN :( The organist at SCI 2 years ago showed us just how powerful the organ can be when you pull out all the stops, and it was awesome haha Yeah it would definitely be super difficult to do them both, I feel like it would be similar to trying to learn 2 languages at once! I absolutely LOVE Mendelssohn and Chopin! Right now I'm on a spree of learning a few of Mendelssohn's songs without words, and I just finished a spree of learning Chopin preludes lol. But Liszt's Liebestraum is one of my top 10! I made one of my piano friends learn it so that I can listen to an in person performance of it whenever I want to haha. If I had to give a list of a few of my favorites, they'd be Bach B Minor prelude (Siloti) Mendelssohn Songs Without Words Op. 30 No.1, and Op 19. No. 4 Chopin "Raindrop" Prelude, and Fantaisie Impromptu Liszt Liebestraum and "Un Sospiro" from his 3 Etudes de Concert, S.144: no. 3 Debussy Clair de Lune Beethoven Moonlight Sonata mvmt 3, and Tempest sonata mvmt 3 Rachmaninoff 12 songs, Op. 21: V. Lilacs and so many others but these are definitely some of the best! I think Beethoven is super cool because he wrote music in styles that extended to future types of music, from standard classical to romantic, to pretty much having a syncopated rhythm in his last Piano sonata (no. 32). No problem, long messages are great, then there's more to talk about haha
